Working Towards a Better Tomorrow
Facing the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks. Pathway Home emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2019, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support.
Pathway Home knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. In 2019, our community leaders realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to collaborate and build.
Meet Our Staff
Shelter Director, Wendy Schneider
Since 2010, Wendy has passionately worked on meeting the needs of unhoused individuals, affordable housing, and preventing homelessness through a variety of programs in the five county area of Adams, Columbia, Dodge, Juneau and Sauk. She has experience with case management, grant writing, program development and management. Wendy is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with an Education Degree.
She and her husband have lived in the Baraboo area since 1990 and have raised two daughters. Wendy enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking and 5K events. Pathway Home is an amazing home where clients obtain resources and learn to overcome barriers and move to self-reliance, coinciding with Wendy’s values.

Case Manager, Haley Weisert
A Sauk County native, Haley Weisert holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and is a graduate of Reedsburg Area High School. Much of her previous work has involved learning and connecting people with programs and resources in Sauk County, providing education to area youth, and conducting outreach in the area. Her knowledge of area resources and her concern for people experiencing homelessness make her an ideal person to intersect with, support and encourage both our clients and staff.
Haley joined our team in 2021 and reports to the Shelter Director. Haley enjoys hiking, kayaking and gardening in the area.

Case Manager, Jessica Herrewig
Jessica joined Pathway Home in July of 2022 as Interim Director and now works as a full-time Case Manager. Jessica attended Madison College Liberal Arts Transfer program with a focus in Sociology and Human Services and came to us with nearly 10 years of shelter work. This included working as an advocate for Hope House in Baraboo and sitting on the Board of Directors for Safe Harbor, the now closed homeless shelter in Reedsburg. Jessica lives in rural Sauk County with her daughter and two cats.

Housing Case Manager, Toshia Martin
Toshia has lived in the Baraboo Area most of her adult life and has worked in the housing industry since 2018. She holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree from UW-Baraboo and is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Community Engagement and Education from UW Milwaukee. She believes that a safe, secure home is the springboard to all other avenues of development and success for each person and for the community in which they live. Toshia lives in Baraboo with her family, their dog Annie and cat Tiger. In her free time she enjoys gardening, reading, walking and chasing waterfalls.
